Notts County Supporters Trust will once again be supporting Fairtrade Fortnight before the match against Barnet on Saturday 8th March.

Magpies fans arriving at Meadow Lane will be able to visit a stand outside the Trust Office to learn more about Fairtrade and enjoy free samples of Fairtrade produce.

The stand has been jointly organised by the Nottingham Oxfam Campaigns group and the Nottingham Fairtrade Working Group, and is one of thousands of activities taking place around the country during Fairtrade Fortnight (25 Feb –9 March).

The aim of the campaign is to challenge people to make small changes in their everyday lives by choosing Fairtrade products when they shop or to purchase across the range, triggering a positive change in people’s lives in developing countries.

Trust Community Officer, Dave Hindley says: “It is widely recognised that football holds a powerful influence over children and adults, and so if we can harness that to raise awareness of Fairtrade and drive change, we can make a real difference.”

“It is great working alongside the Oxfam and Fairtrade groups in Nottingham, and we hope that the activities around the ground help us all to learn for ourselves how purchasing Fairtrade products directly translates into benefits for farmers in the developing world.”

The stand by the Trust office on Meadow Lane will be promoting all things Fairtrade, along with a host of giveaways and some tasty free samples of Fairtrade produce.
