Notts County Supporters Trust members have until 5.00pm on Monday 28th July 2008 to choose who they want to represent them on the Board of Notts County Football Club in this year’s Supporter-Director election.

One of the Supporter-Director positions is up for full election as its current two-year term of office comes to an end. The three candidates for this post are: Eric Kerry, Glenn Rolley and Paul Whitby.

In the same ballot, Trust members are also being asked to ratify the appointments made last September of Peter Dennis and John Armstrong-Holmes whose positions, if confirmed, will run until 2009 and 2010 respectively with annual ballots. Additionally, the term of office for all Supporter-Directors will change from two-years to three-years following this ballot.

All the candidates are elected members of the Trust Board and have been nominated by two members of the Trust.

Only a handful of Trusts elect Supporter Directors by means of a ballot of their membership. All Notts County Supporters Trust members who are paid-up and were aged 16 years or over on 31st May 2008 are able to take part in this ballot and will have already received their election papers by post.

Trust Vice-Chair, Nigel King says:

“This really is democracy in action. At most Football Clubs, fans have little or no input on decision-making behind closed boardroom doors. At Notts County things are different. Through the Trust, fans can really have their say on things like who represents them on the Club Board of Directors.

That’s why this ballot is so important and I would encourage every eligible Trust member to take part if they haven’t done so already. I’d also encourage anyone who is not already a member of the Trust to join up or come along and see us at the Club’s Open Day on 27th July at Meadow Lane”
