Members of the interim board, including the Trust's Community Officer Carole Stapleton, will be attending a meeting of the East Midlands Trusts Forum on July 30th.The event, which is being held at Derby County's Pride Park Stadium, will be looking at ways that bonds between football clubs and their communities can be strengthened.

Speakers will include Brian Burgess, a national director of Community Action Network (CAN) which supports social entrepreneurs, Malcolm McLean - Strategic Advisor to Macclesfield Board - as well as Simon Binns from Supporters Direct. Football in the Community will also be represented, including Graham Moran from Notts County.

RamsTrust chairwoman Elaine Deane, who is helping organise the event, said "football has moved away from its grass roots and become a corporate business - the ordinary fan is sometimes alienated.

This is about giving people who made football what it is today more consideration. Football stadia are vastly under-used and could have a community use."

A report on the event will be posted to the Trust message board.

Regards,

David Hindley
Interim Chair
