Before Wednesday’s FA Cup replay against Swindon Town, there will be a bucket collection in aid of Wrexham Supporters Trust.

Anyone who endured the dark times of our own administration will empathise with the plight of Wrexham, who have reported debts of £2.5 million with £900,000 owed to the Inland Revenue. Their Chairman has made public his plans to redevelop the Racecourse Ground for housing and appears reluctant to consider any takeover moves. The Inland Revenue, who are becoming increasingly impatient with the plight of football clubs, want to petition for the winding up of Wrexham FC.

Administration is intended to safeguard the Club in the meantime, although this move has meant a 10-point deduction in accordance with the new Football League rules.

In much the same way that Notts Trust worked tirelessly to save our own Club, the Wrexham Supporters Trust are striving to ensure their Club’s survival. We would ask, in the spirit of generous cooperation that we received in our hour of need that fans give generously in the buckets that will be in areas of the ground before the Swindon replay. Thank you.

We would also like to hear from anyone willing to volunteer to help with the bucket collection. Any help would be much appreciated.

This collection unfortunately had to be cancelled and will be rescheduled for early next year.

At the request of Wrexham Supporters Trust we have sent them a Notts home shirt signed by all the players. This will be used in a parade of shirts at the Wrexham v Hartlepool game on Saturday 18th December. The collection of shirts will then be auctioned to raise money for WST.
