Letter of Resignation
It is with considerable regret that I have to inform you that I am resigning from the Board of Blenheim 1862 Limited (t/a Notts County Football Club) with immediate effect.

Although, on the surface, I appear to have made an excellent recovery from the Stroke that I suffered in July 2008 this does not tell the full story. Unfortunately the illness has significantly diminished my
ability to deal effectively with anxiety and stress.

I am mindful that a heavy workload relating to Club matters over last summer contributed, in part, to my Stroke. Unfortunately, it now appears that there is likely to be a similarly heavy workload for 2009. This prospect is causing me further anxiety.

I am conscious that over the past few months since my illness I have been unable to make as full a contribution to board matters as I did previously and this has prompted further anxieties.

Having given the matter due consideration and having taken the views of my family into account I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that I do not feel able to commit both the time and mental effort required to successfully deliver what will be required in 2009 without putting my long term health at serious risk. Accordingly I have decided that the correct course of action is to stand down immediately.

I am, at the moment, intending to carry on with my duties on the Trust Board as Treasurer.

My passion for the Club remains as high as ever and I am intending to continue to support the team both home and away as I have done for the last 50 years or so.
I would like to thank my colleagues for giving me the opportunity to serve my Club as Director for the past 18 months. It has been most enlightening.

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish the Club every success in the future and assure everyone that I hope to continue to serve Notts County Football club in whatever capacity for many years to come.

I hope that you understand and respect my decision to put my own health at the top of my priorities.
