You clearly broke the rules of the Trust when you suspended the membership applications. The board should resign.

No! They prepared for a meeting? I'm shocked. You'll be telling me next that they brought pens and paper with them to make notes.

I would be grateful if you would not partially quote me on this. I did say that the directors should take the issue raised seriously yes, but I ended the sentence with “remember that you are amongst friends here”.

I would contend that they did take the matters seriously they agreed to meet the officers later that week, and agreed to requests to extend the cash flow forecast and also give a follow up response on the other items. They have done this.

Nothing I said there can be used as an excuse for breaking the rules of the Trust, for organising secret meetings to oust elected directors or to try and run board meetings as show trials with people reading from pre-prepared scripts to try and remove directors.

Actually you said 'very seriously'.

Organising secret meetings to oust elected directors? Nigel are you suggesting that trust board members must not talk together about issues that you said yourself were very serious? The trust board meeting you refer to wasnt a board meeting it was a special meeting, specifically held to address some very serious matters. Considering the seriousness of the matter, it would have been foolish if notes hadnt been made of the issues.

As for trying to remove directors, at no point was a vote proposed to remove the directors (only one was elected by the way) you know that a vote of no confidence would not remove a director - JAH has made that very clear....

I am pleased to hear that at last the cashflow forecast has now been extended, given that this was requested in January and hadnt happend in March. I also hope the major cashflow anomaly has now been sorted.

Phil,

This was not the first time the the Trust Board has suspended/planned to suspend processing of membership applications. This also happened once in 2005. The online payment page was temporarily taken off the off the website, but people were still able to download and post in application forms.

So the opportunity to join the trust wasnt actually suspended in 2005 at all then?

The processing was temporarily suspended. This was agreed by the Board. It would have been longer if circumstances had not not changed.

So, breaking the rules in 2005 justifies breaking the rules in 2009?

If I was party to the breaking of the rules in 2005 I apologise sincerely to the membership and ackowledge that I should have read the rules more thoroughly.
