Members of the Supporters Trust had until noon yesterday to vote for the proposal that their 60 per cent shareholding of the club should be gifted to the Middle Eastern Consortium.

The Trust membership has exercised their democratic right and it is very clear where the overwhelming majority stand on the issue.

*And when the count was completed, it was an emphatic result with 814 members voting in favour of the takeover and just 55 against. 93 per cent of votes cast were in favour.

There was a magnificent 83 per cent turn-out of the Trust’s membership and the second proposal to consider – to write-off loans the Trust had in the club – resulted in 784 votes in favour and 78 against.

The members have recognised that it is a magnificent opportunity to put Notts County back on the football map after so many years in the doldrums and have decided to give their full backing to Munto Finance.

Time will tell whether the decision is the right one. But like everyone who cares about the future of Notts County, the Trust board are genuinely excited about the way forward.

There is still work to be done to complete the takeover, but now the votes have been cast we can clearly see the way forward. That can only be good news.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rev. Mark Tanner for his sterling work in the way he conducted the count. Mark took over seven and half hours in fastidiously ensuring everything was correctly adhered to.

It is time for ALL Notts County fans to ‘Smile and Unite’.

*Motion 1: 814 in favour, 55 against, 3 abstentions.
Motion 2: 784 in favour, 78 against, 10 abstentions. There were 3 spoiled papers.

Good News, Finally investment in the club.

I think the trusts role should remain as a voice of fan opinion, holding the club and by proxy Munto to account if at some point in the future as I'm sure we will disagree.

I would rather that be done by the Supporters Club, personally I want nothing more to do with the Trust they been a disgrace and totally ruined the ethics of a Trust.

I have to say jurgen I entirely agree with your post, A Total Disgrace & came very close to ensuring Notts County would not reach the Ripe Old Age of 150.
Disband the Trust & put it to bed for the sake of our Clubs long term future please.

Every Thing Forward & Trust in The Lord.

Agree with you there, I'm looking forward again to a new era and professionals not amateurs running the club.

Can we just get back to being Football Supporters now please & put the Politicians Toys away.
All I want to do is support my team Notts County & hope that I am around long enough to see them back in The Championship at least,
this coming season will be my sixtieth as a Supporter, a landmark that I am very proud of.

Every Thing Forward & Trust in The Lord.

Also agree with disbanding the Trust Jurgen. I see no purpose for the Trust when we are no longer a shareholder once control has passed to Munto. Unfortunately the Trust has become discredited and I see no purpose in trying to turn that around and become a voice for the supporters again.

I'm not sure that the Supporters Club is a suitable vehicle to communicate with the club unless there is significant change in that leadership. That isn't intended as a criticism as I'm sure they do what they do well, but they are more cheerleaders than critical friends.

The question is how Munto choose to engage with supporters. I suspect that there will be no meaningful consultation given their reluctance to communicate during the offer period.

My expectation of Peter Trembling is that he will seek to deliver what the customer wants - a successful team on the pitch first and a pleasant environment to watch a slightly distant second. To deliver the former, he'll need to be alert to all income earning opportunities which should include maximising supporter income.

If he does that I suspect that we'll all be content!
