Proposed Takeover of Blenheim 1862 Ltd. by Munto

The proposed takeover documentation has been distributed over the weekend.

Only 40% of members have email, thus it is imperative that we give all members the same opportunity on which to base their decisions.

Enclosed will be documents relating to the ballot of members under Rule 55 of the Trust.

There is an information booklet together with a ballot paper and a stamped, addressed envelope for return of the ballot paper.

Overseas members, also in accordance with Rule 55, are being offered the option of voting by e-mail.

Ballot papers need to be returned to the Registered Office by noon on Monday, 29th June 2009. Rev. Mark Tanner has kindly agreed to act as Returning Officer and will receive, open and count the ballot papers.

Further to a previous communication we have been working with the club to facilitate a Fans Forum. This Forum is planned for Wednesday 24th June 2009 at 7.30 at Wheelers, Meadow Lane. Arrangements will be made for votes to be collected there, if you wish. The Forum will be open to all fans, not just Trust members.

We are at present collating your additional questions and will answer these in the same format as before.

Trust Chairman

Can I assume, that at about 1pm ish on June 29th when all the votes have been counted and that it has been demonstrated that there is still an overwhelming majority of sane people in this trust that the takeover will be official from that moment?

And then thank God, we can start looking at going up the leagues as opposed to down them as some on here would seem happy for us to do.

I am sure there are those on here who think it would be a good idea for us to spend a season in the Conference so we can sort ourselves out and come back stronger!!

JUNE 29TH - THE REBIRTH OF NOTTS COUNTY FOOTBALL CLUB............HALLELUJAH.

Don't let David hear you being positive and looking forward to some success. That could make Mr Negative sick ! The thought of Notts being successful but without trust representation.

I really don't think that is fair,to be honest. I do not see David's posts as negative. I would describe them as questioning. All the people on here want Notts to be successful, some want this with trust involvement whilst others are happy to do without that. Some are keen for the medium to long term to be secure and are not eager to sign over ownership of the club to an unknown quantity without further clarification and security whilst others are happy to trust the current trust and club boards.

Along with the passion and excitement we also need informed debate so that everyone can make their own choice with integrity and then support the club whatever the outcome. Along with many others, both David's and your comments can contribute to that.

The problem with medium to long term security of the club in the current circumstances means that the only direction we are going in is down.

Quite frankly without sufficient investment, which we are not going to ever get whilst the Trust is the major shareholder, I am not at all convinced we would have any security in any event. I can only envisage a downward spiral where local Derbys mean matches against the likes of Arnold Town et al.

The decline in gates would contine, meaning less and less revenue, leading to the acquisition of poor quality players, leading to bad results, leading to lower attendances.

At the moment we are like an ailing, punch drunk heavyweight boxer, desperately trying to find the stool to collapse on.......before the bell goes for the next round which could well be the last.

This investment will be like Mohamed Ali stepping out of his current body and looking like he was 50 years ago.

The problem with this idea of being prudent and try to ensure the long term future of the club is that it won't work. No ambition will result is less and less fans and all that will happen is a slow painful death of the club (the situation we are in now) season tickets are way down. Lose a few hundred and we are talking £100k each season less for the playing budget. And lets be fair if we take £100k away from last year's budget we will be blue square next season.

The Notts fans I have spoken to who happen not to be in the Trust have all said that if this takeover mover fails, they will probably stop going down to Meadow Lane until the Trust is removed.

They all see the Trust now as way past its sell by date. An organisation that has played a very significant part in the history of the club but which should now be disbanded.

Whether Trust members like it or not, the Trust is now perceived as a vehicle for the status quo and of absolutely no ambition, happy to block change.

As for CAN and its members, the moderator would not allow their thoughts to be printed on this board.

These discussions are going way past pointless. However the reason people aren't turning up is because the football is crap and we are at the bottom of Division 4. If that happens next season under new owners, people still won't turn up. If Charlie had taken that squad to the brink of the play-offs (and supposedly he should have done given the budget he had) then more people would have turned up. It all comes down to the football in the end and there is no guarantee at all that "investment" will improve results.
