Dear member,

As you know, we are anxious to try to get documentation relating to the members' meeting to you all in good time for you to consider before that meeting. We had hoped to be able to send this out earlier this week, but that has not been possible. Supporters Direct (the national federation of supporters trusts) have been advising us throughout this and who are co-ordinating the production of the documentation, and they have asked if we can update members as to where things were at the moment.

The reasons for the time slipping back are two-fold.

Firstly, the people who will be writing the documentation on behalf of the requisitioners, and the Trust board members, are all volunteers doing this in their spare time. The time we would like things to be done by is not always the same as the time things are done by in the real world of people's jobs and families.

Secondly, we are anxious that the trust upholds the highest standards of legal compliance, and to that end, we are anxious that we do not expose the trust to any legal action on the basis of what we send to you as members. As a result, in addition to the time taken to get all the documents together, we also have to get our legal advisers to approve everything and get agreement to any changes they suggest to us.

This process is coming to an end and we hope you would bear with us for a few more days. We hope you will be assured that we are anxious that members have all the information they require in advance of the meeting, and we trust that will be with you by the weekend.

Thats just perfect for those members that cannot attend and wish to have a proxy vote. How on earth are they going to have that proxy vote when they get the documentation at the weekend?

Or did the board not wish to point out to its members that if you cannot attend and are waiting for the documentation then tough! Too late!

Democracy - you should look the word up sometime!

Nigel

Bazza has a point I was going to be at the meeting but my circumstances have changed meaning I probably will have to vote by proxy. Is it possible to drop proxy votes off somewhere in Nottingham?

I don't trust the royal mail to get my vote to the required place on time

I appreciate that people have lives outside of following Notts, but given the importance of this issue - not to mention the problems any delays could cause for proxy-voters - I'd be interested to know how much notice the parties were given of the deadline for submission.

Is there anything to suggest that a serious threat of legal action exists against the Trust or its personnel, or is this merely a precaution?

Further, does this mean that the members might not receive the full, original documents as written by the various parties?

Thanks.

Martin.

Nigel, as soon as the information is available, please post it on this forum as snail mail will be too late and I have not signed up for e-mail notification.

Nigel, as its now 1.15 on the Friday before the meeting. Could you please explain how members will receive the documentation, have sufficient time to read and digest it and get a proxy vote registered in time?

On the same topic as Stuart.

My circumstances have changed and I can no longer make the meeting but I could drop my proxy vote off somewhere (the club perhaps?).

Due to the lateness of the documentation I don't think its unreasonable that you find a option to accommodate members such as myself.

How am I expected to vote in an informed manner?

From my understanding magpie1983, you need to send your proxy to supporters direct. Not the club. They must receive it by Monday at the latest.

Anyone know different?

Dave

I am just pointing out that given how late the info being sent out is, it is impractical to get a proxy vote there on Monday if I am to wait and get the full facts before casting a vote.

Unless I can email my vote to supporters direct
