Could someone from the Trust Board explain why it is alleged that a member of the Trust Board and Football Club Board contacted Notts County Mad and insisted on the removal of certain threads. More worryingly, the same person insisted that another thread remain despite complaints from other parties?

If there is any truth in this allegation, then it is very worrying indeed.

Perhaps the Trust could clarify whether any action has been taken against Notts County Mad by Trust board members, and if so, on what grounds?

Here's an extract about the Trust from your own website:

- to strengthen the bonds between the Club and the community which it serves and to represent the interests of the community in the running of the Club;

- to encourage the Club to take proper account of the interests of its supporters and of the community it serves in its decisions;

Both not being met, I won't be renewing my membership until the Trust is more transparent and meets its obligations towards its members

This is something of a dilemma for me, Jurgenpie. I've considered leaving the Trust at points in the past.

On the balance of the evidence, it seems that the Trust has lost its way. Can it genuinely claim to reflect the views of its membership and to be acting in the best interests of the fans? It's difficult to know, because as you say, the transparency appears to be lacking.

However, despite any concerns I may have, I still firmly believe that a properly-functioning Supporters' Trust is vital to the success of Notts County.

So, how do we make the Trust function properly again? Through the democratic structure of the Trust. Remember: any member of the Trust can stand for election to the Trust board, and all members get a vote in those elections.

I'm not in a position to stand as a candidate at the moment, but I would urge all members who can spare the time and expertise, to consider doing so. And for any members who, like me, aren't in a position to stand, my advice would be to make sure you use your vote. (This is something which I've failed to do on occasion.)

We - the Trust's membership collectively - are the biggest shareholder in Notts County*. Not the Trust's board. Not the Supporter-Directors. Us.

I really believe that this model can work. But it's up to us - collectively - to make it happen. Personally, I plan to retain my membership, for that very reason.

Martin.

* In saying that, I'd like to point out that I'm not opposed in principle to outside investors.

I personally believe its time to hand over overall control after all a Trust cannot run a football club as JAH has proved in his role as chairman, as Steve Thompson said the Trust should be a watchdog to monitor the running of the club, I would rather see us keep say 10/20 per cer cent of the shares and and sell the rest to any credible investor as no investor will come in and just give us money and expect nothing in return.

I have no knowledge of why threads have been removed from the Notts County Mad website. There is no Trust Board policy on this. Individuals have a right to use their complaint procedure. Footy Mad is an entirely independent company from the Trust and it's up to them what content they choose to publish on their website.

I see now that you are blocking new memberships and renewals, ahead of a possible EGM. These people are attempting to join/rejoin the Trust in order to have their say and vote.

What exactly are you frightened of ?

Jurgen,
What if a potential investor insisted on JAH staying at the helm, as a condition of the deal ?

Its not a "possible" SGM Natty, there will be one.

The membership suspension is as the notice says temporary.
