On Saturday fans rattled buckets outside Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium and Lincoln City’s Sincil Bank to raise money for Notts County Supporters Trust who need to raise a minimum target of £250,000 to help preserve Notts County’s status as the world’s oldest professional League club.
Both collections were jointly organised by the respective club's Trusts (under the umbrella of East Midlands Trust Forum) and Notts County Supporters Trust.
The Pride Park collection raised £1,425 and £718 at Lincoln City.
Chair of Notts Trust, David Hindley, commenting on the bucket collections said ‘The money collected on Saturday was a fantastic achievement, and on behalf of the supporters’ trust I would like to thank everyone that helped organise the collections, the respective club staff and those that gave so generously. It just goes to illustrate what can be organised at a regional level, and the cross-club unity, which supporters' trusts can foster’.

A RamsTrust view...
RamsTrust members turned out in force on Saturday to collect money in buckets before the game against Ipswich to assist near neighbours Notts County to save their club from extinction.
Since the formation of East Midlands Trusts, supporters' trusts in the region have worked co-operatively in a bid to assist one another. Because Notts County only have until 9th December to save themselves, RamsTrust organised a bucket collection to help them achieve their target of £250,000 to buy a share of their club.
As Notts County didn't have a game until Sunday, four of their trust members came to help the army of RamsTrust volunteers. A similar collection was held at Lincoln's game.
The collection outside Pride Park raised £1450 with a further £25 being donated at our Eagle Centre Market Stall, and the Lincoln collection raised almost £800.
RamsTrust is delighted to have been able to organise this collection with the backing of Derby County FC and we wish Notts County the very best of luck in achieving their target.
Co-operation among football supporters was a rare event before the formation of supporters' trusts and epitomises all that is good about fans getting together to support not only their own clubs but the good of the game in general.
