In today's (3 July) Nottingham Evening Post, Geoffery Richmond is reported to have defended the rise in season ticket prices. Given the pressing need for financial stability at Notts County, my personal opinion is that the increase is understandable.

The range of concessions available - with reductions for senior citizens, students, unemployed, juveniles aged 15-12, and under-12s - for matchday admission meanwhile is to be welcomed.

However, Mr. Richmond's comment that "there will not be any other further offers through the course of the season" will do nothing to attract the occaisional visitor to Meadow Lane. Whilst this decision may be welcomed by some, it seems rather short-sighted and restrictive.

The decision to scrap free entry to children aged under-12 (who will now be charged £3) is also disappointing, watering down a major incentive for families to watch football at Meadow Lane.

One addition to the ticketing structure is the introduction of a £1 discount for any ticket purchased before 5pm on the day preceding the fixture.

The Trust will be raising the issue of ticket pricing on behalf of its members, in forthcoming meetings with both Sam McEwan and the new owners. We will also be discussing what plans they have to increase attendances and the role the Trust could play in attracting supporters to Meadow Lane.

Regards,

David Hindley

I agree that scrapping free entry for under 12's is not such a good idea. The £2 increase in adult prices means it'll cost another fiver for me & and my lad to attend, and a fiver's a lot of money.

The decision that there will be no special promotions during the season - and in particular the scrapping of free admission for under-12s - removes any incentive for the casual or 'pay on the day' supporter, who made up over half of the home support last year.

We will be raising this issue with the club, and asking them what plans they have to attract young kids to Meadow Lane, and thus building future support.

I do remember B&S saying before there bid was accepted that if they took over they would be thinking of ideas to get more fans down to Meadow Lane. They are going the wrong way about it and they have to remember Kids are the future, i could not believe the Kids under 12's now have to pay. There are two clubs in Nottingham and we have to compete to get the younger generation down to Meadow Lane instead of them jumping over the river and the Kids in for free was a great idea to get young kids into Meadow Lane. I think B&S are going the wrong way about it to attract younger fans.

Dave,

this is of prime concern to us all and will be brought up in any meeting we have with the new regime.
