A question for anyone really, at the trust meeting it was mentioned that the lease on meadow lane needed to be changed in order for the club to go forward. It spoke about how it could be used for example to allow a hotel to be built on one of the car parks. my question is does this allow potentially the whole ground to be knocked down and redeveloped.

What the working group understand is :
There will be a clause in the new lease such that whilst development of the Meadow Lane site will be allowed, a football stadium ( conforming to Football League standards) must be retained. Alternatively, if the club wishes to re-locate then an equivalent standard stadium must be provided. Under those circumstances the value of the Meadow Lane site would be shared between Notts and the Council. There appear to be conflicting reports as to whether the new lease is for 150 or 250 years. Either way it's almost as good as freehold. We are not sure what would happen under the new lease if the football club ceased to exist. Under the existing lease, control of the site would simply revert back to the Council as Landlord.

We're also not sure whether the new lease is available to all potential owners of the club. As this has been negotiated by the present owners/Administrator it may or may not be applicable to any new people. We think that the Council will need to approve any potential future development partners.
