I have a set of autographs collected by my dad in the late 1940's from Notts players including H Adamson, J Sewell, T Johnston, A Southwell, O Hold, TOMMY LAWTON, A Brown.

Some other players as well from same period. Ron George (Crystal Palace), and several others from Palace, Coventry and Exeter (who had just been stuffed 9-0!)

Also NCCC 8 signatures from same period.

They are in a little book with no cover and rusty staples but autographs are excellent (although I am not a collector and cannot grade them).

It breaks my heart to sell them but if someone will pledge £250 to the trust, I will let you have them as soon as payment clears. I will also get the trust to confirm to you that I have deposited the money with them.

Email me at crasmith@tiscali.co.uk if you are interested. I can email photos of the autographs. No timewasters please, time is not on our side!

£250 isn't enough - we should get those on eBay asap.

The we should let fans of the respective clubs know about the auction. We'll get more than £250...

I think that £250 is not enough for these items.
Please don't close the auction until a proper valuation valuation can be made.

The Ebay page for this item can be found here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2751929510

Craig, everyone on the interim Trust Board was very moved by your message and your tremendous generosity. Thankyou very much.

I live in Newcastle so it's hard for me to get a real valuation as I think they will only be of interest to a Notts fan. If anyone can put me in touch with anyone, I will do the leg work.

I was there yesterday and I would like to say on behalf of Magpies everywhere, thank you for everything the trust is doing.

Looking forward to when we arrange fund-raising at St James' Park!

Craig

I think these autographs will be of interest to fans from many other clubs. Tommy Lawton was England's greatest centre-forward, he also payed for Bolton and Brentford and other clubs (Everton and maybe Burnley) as did Jackie Sewell. See http://www.times1190.freeserve.co.uk/lawton.htm and http://www.toffeeweb.com/history/legends/Lawton.asp.

I'm sure that they are woth more that £250. Please hold on to them until there is a proper valuation.

Many, many thanks for your support.

Craig,

I've sent the details of your collection to some auctioneers and valuers. Hope you don't mind.

We will see what happens.
