I can't believe the silence from the Trust and fans as we enter one of the most critical games in the clubs history. Where is the rallying cry to members and Notts fans around the country? We must have a full house and a big atmosphere on Saturday and we need to drag every Notts fans out of the woodwrk and down to Nottingham. We may not be able to chose the tactics and the team but at least we can raise the roof. Come on, please use every ounce of energy and power you have to fill the Lane.

There was this in the email last night -

quote:
The fans' forum last Tuesday and the responses of the Directors present gave reason for optimism for the future of our Club.

Sadly, this optimism has been totally overshadowed by the result on the pitch against Cheltenham on Saturday. We are now faced with the real possibility of relegation to the Conference, something which has plunged Notts fans into feelings between utter disbelief and total despair and frustration.

The one consolation is that the eventual outcome of next Saturday lies totally in the Club's hands. It's a simple equation. A win against Bury and Notts County will remain in League 2 for next season. From now until next Saturday at 5.00pm, nothing else should matter in the minds of everyone connected with Notts County Football Club other than this fact.

Of course, ultimately, events on the pitch will be the deciding factor. But supporters have a huge role to play too by getting as many people as possible down to the Lane and giving as much vocal support as possible to the 11 players on the pitch who will act in our name to decide the future of our Club.

Now is not the time for recriminations. Next Saturday is too important for that. Yet again it comes down to supporters to unite in the best interests of our Club. It has been a hugely dissapointing and frustrating season. A win on Saturday will not erase this memory but will at least allow the new season to start on a fresh basis.

The Trust, as your representatives, have already raised the issue of increasing the attendance and the atmosphere on Saturday with our Trust Director for him to take up with the Club. We hope that the Club will consider this and make announcements to fans as the week progresses.

The Trust Board will also be meeting tomorrow night. If you have any suggestions as to how we, as fans, can help support the team on Saturday in order to achieve the result we need, please let us know.

As Notts fans, we have grown used to adversity. Let's all hope for the right result on Saturday, committment on and off the pitch and that this will be the forerunner to better and brighter times for the Club we love.

Is it just me, or does anyone else wonder how all this optimism, in fact a whole strategy underpinned by a 5 year plan to get to the Championship, can be undermined by one single defeat, in an away match, against a play-off contender. Perhaps if you had stopped patting each other on the back and reflected a little earlier on the seriousness of the situation, more could have been done to prevent it.

I will be there on saturday supporting the club and urge any other Notts fan to do the same, but after that I hope a few questions are asked of the clowns who have taken it upon themselves to govern our club.

Is that addressed at all the directors?

It's a shame the trust website seems to have died as a fans forum for exchanging ideas and views on the club. The message boards on the various NCFC websites have been buzzing this week but the Trusts has been deathly silent. Why is this? The site does not seem to be maintained with messageboards dating back to 2004 and irrelevant threads only of interest to those heavily into Trust "business" matters. I have a massive amount of respect for the Trust but don't want it to be seen as an irrelevance. Come on guys, do a bit of marketing and get the supporters using the site more Notts banter!

Great outcome (on and off the pitch) for NCFC today. However, how do we stop our glorious club getting in this position next season? It should be a massive wake up call for all involved.

On a messageboard with more traffic you wouldn't notice the older messages as they'd be buried deep under the newer stuff.
