I'd like the Trust Board to ask Mr Moore if he regards the Trust Members as shareholders in the club?

Phil, is that a general question or is it in relation to something specific?

A general question. I don't think the club sees us as shareholders, if it considers us at all. See my points to Keri elsewhere.

I would also be interested to learn:

1. How the recent changes to the Board's make-up affects the Trust's position/influence at Board level. In the early days, the Supporter Director represented 1/4 of the Board. With Jeff Moore's appointment that has now changed to 1/8. Does the Trust Board see this as a positive step forward?

2. What involvement did the Trust have in Jeff Moore's appointment as Chairman?

3. Are the new Directors all members of the Trust/what is their perspective on supporter involvement in the running of football clubs?

4. Finally, from the recent members' forum and the information on the Club's official website the new Directors, it would appear that the new Board is well equipped with regard ensuring the Club is run in a financially prudent manner. However, I am less clear what specific knowledge or experience they bring in relation to football club management/the sport and leisure industry.

In the meeting with the Trust Board, Geoff Davey said

quote:
New Directors had been appointed who were taking an interest in club functions specific to their experience.

Should it not be clearer which director has responsibility for which area of the football club?

Perhaps I should post these questions on Mad?

Dave,

1. This is currently under consideration and will be discussed at the next Trust Board meeting.

2. The Trust was involved in this mainly through its Supporter-Director.

3 & 4. We would like all directors to be members and will persue this. With the success of the last Directors Forum we will try to arrange a similar one in the near future so that supporters can question the Club Board directly.

Keri ( as temporary Supporter Director) will raise this at the next Board meeting.

We had a very good meeting with Mr Moore, I did raise your question. A report on the meeting will appear shortly.

From the report of the meeting

quote:
In response to another question from the Trust Board, Mr Moore said that he recognises the massive stake that the Trust holds in Notts County and will give whatever help he can to the Trust and its members.

So the answer to my original question was, no, he doesn't see us as shareholders.

Did he mention when the Club AGM is going to be?

Hi Phil.

I don't think there is really any choice about whether he "sees" us as shareholders or not. The legal fact is that supporters, through the Trust, have a 30.2% shareholding in the Club.

As that shareholding is a given, it's then a question of whether there will be a positive relationship with a recognition that the views of supporters, through the Trust, should have influence on decisions made at Director level. The route to this is via the Trust's Supporter Director. Additionally, there are now regular meetings with the Chief Executive and the Trust which allows the Trust to also influence decision-making at an operational level. The minutes of these meetings are posted up on this website.

Should a situation emerge where the views of supporters are clearly not being taken account of, the Trust, as significant shareholders, would be in a position to do something about this and would also wish to report this to the members.

However, there was nothing to suggest this scenario would arise from the discussions at this meeting with Jeff Moore which was entirely positive towards the Trust and the role we can play as shareholders in taking the Club forward.

Cheers

Keri
