With an announcement imminent, I wondered if the Trust Board could shed some light on the process of finding a new manager and the Trust's role in the process.

In an earlier Trust update it was stated:

quote:

The Trust, through its interim Supporter-Director, will be part of the process of getting the next Manager appointed. Through this route, the views and opinions of Trust members on this matter can be registered with the Club Board as part of the deliberations on making the choice.

Has the Trust's Supporter Director been involved in the initial short-listing?

Is the Trust represented on the interview panel?

What criteria are the Club/Trust using for selecting the new manager?

Thanks in advance.

Dave

And to develop that point further, how will the views and opinions of Trust members be registered via the Supporter Director, if the Supporter Director doesn't ask his members what those views are.

Hi Dave/Kevin

The process of shortlisting/interviewing etc. is being handled by a sub-comittee consisting of the Chairman, Howard Wilkinson and Geoff Davey (Chief Exec).

Geoff Davey has previously stated that the Club is looking for qualities like experience and knowledge of the lower leagues.

The Trust has previously asked for the views of members who are on the Trust email list and has received a good number of replies about the kind of qualities they would like to see. These include:

Introduce a "passing" style of football
Motivation skills
Experience with good contacts
Successful track record
Be proactive in approaching possible candidates
Enthusiastic and can pass that through to the team
Coaching ability
Proven ability to manage on a tight budget
A quick appointment
A long term manager to bring stability
Someone with the ability to develop a rapport with the fans

These and the rest of the thoughts and comments have been passed on to the sub-committee for consideration.

Finally, a vote of all Directors will be taken before the appointment is announced.

Hope this helps.

Keri

I think :

Experience with good contacts
Successful track record

Are most important we need someone who has proven that they can be trusted to spend our money.

I don't put faith in the "Steve Thompson" rumours. I think they are product of the wind up merchants. I'm sure whoever we pick will have the qualities listed above.

If the Post is right and Steve Thompson is one of the favourites for the job then god help us all

Steve Thompson? I do hope this is a wind-up.

Is one of the key criteria for the managerial vacancy - are you a pal of Howard Wilkinson?

Think some of you guys need to look at the MAD message board. I can't believe that you've only just heard about the Thompson ruumour. Was seen at the ground last week and the Post claims he and Danny Wilson are the favourites. Whilst I appreciate that this is only media speculation I'd be very upset if the Board (and our Supporter Director) have been stupid enough to even INTERVIEW Thompson never mind shortlising him. Its clear there will be a revolt if he is appointed with many fans planning to demand season ticket money back etc. Others like myself will also vote with our feet.

The Trust seems to have been very quiet recently. You might need to prepare yourselves for an onslaught this week should this rumour prove to be true....

I'm hearted to see a concensus forming here. I hope it's reflected in the appointment.

This is an important moment for Notts and whoever gets the job will have the task of building the team for the future. I hope this chance is not wasted.

Whoever it's is I will support them 100% however that support will ebb away fast if it is not met with results.

Thanks for that Phil. Didn't realise just how shite his career had been!

Think I'm more nervous about that press conference tomorrow than I was before the last match. If Thompson is appointed that will surely signal the end of NCFC as we know it...and the Trust will be under the cosh once again.

This appointment beggars belief. Mills was bad enough. I wish I hadn't paid for my season ticket now. The board should go at once they are completely incompetent.
