To anyone on the Trust board:

It is renewal time on 1st August so what's happening?

You have said sweet FA since the vote for gifting shares which is disgraceful.

My wife & I pay our Trust Membership by standing order, interesting reading my latest Bank Statement, Trust renewals have been paid, yet nothing in the form of a statement from the Trust on their plans for the way forward now that the Club is under new ownership.
I accept that we should have cancelled the Standing Order with our Bank, but would a spokesman for the Trust please be gracious enough to issue some form of statement as to what is happening regarding the Trust.
If the Trust is to be disbanded I hope & expect our latest subscriptions will be refunded in full,I hasten to add I will not be holding my breath.

Everything Forward & Trust in The Lord.

Bridg4D_Pie,

Thank you for your comments.

As in the last news / Email release (See Below) the now depleted Trust Board have been working to put proposals together in time for the AGM scheduled for October.

A date for the AGM is hoped to be released early next week.

News Update/ Email release:

AGM and Membership

People have asked us about membership renewal. The rules of the Trust are clear that people remain members until notified in writing by the Trust. This means that although the membership year is August 1st to July 31st - we normally send out reminders later in the year thus maximising the Trust financial resource.

Current members will remain so until at least until after the Annual General Meeting.

A big thank you to all those who have already renewed their membership.

The details of the AGM will be notified as soon as possible.

The Future Direction of the Trust

As has already been notified, the Trust Board is currently looking at where the future focus of the Trust should be. It is intended that proposals will be brought for members to discuss and decide upon at the Annual General Meeting.

Resignations

Further to a recent Trust Board meeting which looked at the ‘Way Forward’ for the Trust. It was agreed that a complete remodelling would benefit the Trust to adapt to the changing circumstances within our football club. In an endeavour to encourage new people to the board prior to the AGM the following resignations were offered.

John Armstrong-Holmes, Eric Kerry, Paul Gibbs, Malcolm Bullard and Stuart Rolley.

We extend our thanks to all the above for their positive contributions while in office.

A special thank you from all members has to go to John and Eric for their sterling work as Supporters Directors over the last few years.

Eric for guiding the re-emergence of the COE which is vital to the future of our football club.

John’s unparalleled efforts will not, and should not, go unrecognised in the history of the Trust and Notts County Football Club!

The Trust Board, its members and ALL Notts County Supporters owe him so much for what he has achieved for our football club in the last 2 years.

We can all now enjoy the football proud in the knowledge that John and the Trust played a key role in delivering the ‘Impossible dream’.

Any members who wish to be considered to join the Trust Board as part of the remodelling with fresh ideas to suit the new climate at our football club should contact: chair@nottscotrust.org.uk

It is good to see the Trust Board finally responding to a topic on its own forum. WOW!

Is there any chance that before the AGM that some of the other questions/issues will also receive a response?

I am sure we can all appreciate that in light of departures from the Board that there are less people to share the work but is it not common courtesy to at least provide an acknowledgement. After all the Trust is a members' organisation and without its membership there is no Trust.

I was only co-opted to the Trust Board in July and attended my first Board meeting on 18th August. Whilst I cannot comment on the activities of the Board before this time I am acutely aware of the current difficulties facing the Board with five resignations in a short period of time leaving only five Board Members to take forward preparations for the AGM. With a number of us also taking holidays this has left us extremely short of resources. However, I am determined to ensure that the Trust both improves communications with members and is able to move forward at the forthcoming AGM. I believe that the remaining Board members share this commitment.

Following the Board meeting in August a statement was issued (reproduced above) setting out information regarding preparations for the AGM, membership and the future direction of the Trust, as well as informing members of resignations from the Board. This followed an earlier update posted on 28th July in which members were invited “to communicate their suggestions back to the board, on how and in what direction they feel the Trust can help their football club progress in the future.” The Board have received a very limited response to this but comments received are informing the development of a strategy document that will be discussed at a Board meeting tomorrow and, once finalised, circulated to members for discussion at the forthcoming AGM. I am happy to talk to anyone who has any positive suggestions to input into this and will be in the Navigation before the match on Saturday.

Paul, its pleasing to note that at last someone is responding to questions on here.

What is happening about the elections? As you state yourself, the trust board is woefully short of numbers. A year ago, the closing date for nominations was this coming weekend. As far as I am aware, the paperwork for nominations hasnt even gone out to members yet this time round.

Of as much or possibly even more concern is that membership renewals havent been sent out. Given that the trust office also appears to have been abandoned, opportunities for members to renew/fans to take out new memberships are extremely limited unless using the online process. Using the 'trust members who havent been told they are no longer members are still members' method despite membership renewal being up almost 2 months ago isnt really a terribly satisfactory way forward. That could also raise several issues relating to eligibility to either stand or vote in any forthcoming elections.

Why not meet people in the Trust office?

Congratulations Paul! I make this the first reply from a Board member since July that was not either a one-liner or a rehash of a previous statement. Do you think lack of numbers and a few jollies are an excuse for this? I think it's pretty abject.

I am not surprised you have had little response to your request for suggestions. The current Board has little credibility and two of it's five members do not even exist according to this website! Your priority should be to get nominations in so that members can choose those with a bit of energy and vision to pick up the carcass of the Trust. They will have a mandate to draw up a strategy to bring it back to life.

I agree with this - though I would add that candidates should state their preferred direction for the Trust as part of their election platform.

Thanks.

Martin.
