Hi there,

Various sources are reporting that Munto Finance are looking to sell Notts County. The Evening Post is reporting the possibility of Sven Goran Eriksson and Peter Trembling launching a management buy-out.

http://is.gd/5hEB1

Does the Trust have any more information on this? What is the Trust's view on this news?

Thanks.

Martin.

Well, Well, Well, Our esteemed Trust Board certainly did the Due Dilligence Research on Munto Finance before requesting Trust Members to will their shares to them F.O.C. Oh Dear !

Hi,

I'm also worried about the letter of guarantee from First London, with certain media reports suggesting that it's not worth the paper it's written on.

I understand that at least one member of the current Trust Board has seen this guarantee first-hand; perhaps the Trust Board could thus reassure us? Perhaps some detail of the due diligence and legal advice the Trust Board took prior to recommending the Munto bid to its membership?

What a mess. Has anyone thought about forming a Supporters' Trust?

Martin.

Come off it you guys...
MUNTO have saved us do you really think

1.our profile would have been risen as musch as it has such that at least 2 potential buyers are in the frame to continue the project
2.Do you really think Sven would of given us a second look without Munto
3.With Trembling at the helm we actually look like a professionally run football club
4.Do you think attendances will be increasing?

I for one never want to go back to a Trust run setup of continual under investment.

It was the Trust that allowed the Center of Excellence to be closed without consultation of the membership, I think that speaks volumes of the short sightedness of a Trust run setup.

I'm, sure these guys check thew guarantee out thoroughly and have in place the mechanisms to draw on the money involved

It wasn't the Trust board that allowed the COE to go, the club board voted it out at the time as the football league could not guarantee its funding and the trust vote made no difference to the outcome as the club board had already decided it could not carry on without the guarantee of league funding, I was on the board at the time when the voting was done as was Eric Kerry who denied he was there. I think Martin was being sarcastic about a new Trust.

That was epidemic of the the Trust being majority share holders not having a representative vote on the board the club then. It was misorganisation like that that doomed any sort of coherent leadership. With Trembling in charge we at least have direction as long as he can get backing I think everything will be rosy

You say it yourself "as long as he can get backing".

What if he doesn't?

Given the quotes in today's press by John Armstrong Holmes that he bitterly regrets the Munto takeover could you please answer the questions on due diligence and the guarantee that you have been ignoring for weeks.

Really, I think that Age Old Agage should now come into play.

There was no money to pay for the COE thats why the club board had to close it and the trust board endorsed the club board decision, You can't spend what you don't have and the Football League who used to fund it could not guarantee payments towards it and we didn't have a hundred grand or so floating in the coffers.

I don't remember reading about Supporters Direct's view at the time of the vote. No wonder they weren't involved and it was down to the club chaplain to organise the thing.

quote:
A spokesman for Supporters Direct said they wrote to the Supporters' Trust board about their reservations about the takeover before the trust held a ballot of its members.

Kevin Rye said: "The decision was made by the board and membership and they voted in favour of the takeover.

"It was something we didn't agree with and we wrote to the trust board to tell them that.

"The sale was being made on the basis of a bank guarantee, that was the sole reason for the sale.

"They were in a position of ownership and influence and they failed to retain any interest or influence on the board."

Given that the Club is now in new ownership the questions about due diligence and the guarantee are even more important. Why won't you answer them?

Given that Munto have now pulled out, Have the Trust invoked the bank guarantee?

I personally am happy with Trembling as owner of Notts County, I hope he can bring in the investment needed to take the club forward.

Me too, as long as Sven stays he will be instrumental in attracting new investment.

Or is this Munto Finance by a New Name that is more acceptable to the F.L.It seems very strange to me that there were at least one other party interested in purchasing Notts County & then as if by magic there was just Peter Trembling has Paul Daniels been at work or am I just wearing my Sherlock Holmes hat & being to inquisitive.

Will it be a Festive Season Project for M.S., time will tell, with the January Sales shortly upon us.
