Being Cup final day it occurred to me that we have not heard what the club have done with our allocation of tickets.
I read somewhere that clubs get 18, so I assume we took our share, although I understand that the club has to pay for them.
So what happened to the club's allocation of tickets? Did we take them and if so where did they go? Given that the trust are majority shareholders I would have thought there should have been some way of allowing the fans the chance to buy some, perhaps via some form of lottery.

Steve,

I am not sure at this time what the details are but I will investigate and post back. I think your ‘Lottery’ initiative is great and will examine the possibilities for next season.

Thank you for such a positive suggestion

From this thread

quote:
Phil,

The Rotherham prices were not inflated but normal matchday prices for that area of the ground.

At the time of your original post I was looking into some of the issues being directed at the way the club was being managed. We did that in a professional manner that would be expected from our members. These have now been put into the public forum by others, with scant disregard for confidentiality and democracy. This has caused enormous damage to our Club and Trust. I was mindful at that time of some of these issues, which I found then to be extremely weak in somke cases and have been recognised as such by the majority of the membership. If some of these issues could be levelled at the management of the club then IMHO almost anything could.

It did't make sense in that thread, it doesn't make sense here.

Glenn,

Whilst I agree with the spirit of this idea, I think that there might be relevant FA regulations preventing the allocation of tickets by lottery. Please don't be easily dissuaded - this would be a good way of demonstrating that Trust members are ultimately majority shareholders in the club and could be a useful promotional device at renewal time.

Don't forget the Carling Cup. As a season ticket holder I successfully applied for tickets and saw several finals in the '80s, and valued the opportunity.

I think it would be relevant for the members to be informed in the annual report of any benefit (such as the opportunity to purchase cup final tickets) taken up by any Trust Board member. I have no objection in principle to Board members receiving such benefits but believe it important that there is transparency. If the Trust Board members are uncomfortable with such information being in the public domain, they need to consider whether they should take up the opportunity.

Board members were not allowed to accept free tickets when I was on the Trust Board. I don't know whether that situation has changed.
