I had an idea last night for a possible fundraiser, although I don't really have a clue how practical it would be. It's not something I've ever seen done before, but it could certainly hold some appeal.

How many of you have been putting Lottery tickets on in the hope of being able to use some of the winnings to help Notts? I know I have once or twice! I wondered if it would be possible for the Trust to set up a Lottery syndicate?

It could be done in a way which guarantees the Trust some income; ask participants to put on a multiple of a pound each week, and put half direct into the Trust fund, with the other half being spent on Lottery tickets. The syndicate's numbers could be printed on the website.

Should the syndicate win any money, it could be agreed that any win under a given amount in a given week would be paid in full to Trust funds, whereas any win above that amount could be shared between Trust funds and syndicate members (either 50-50 or some other split).

This is not an idea that I've seen used before, and I know very little about Lottery syndicates and any rules governing them. But it seemed like a decent idea to me at about ten o'clock last night, so I thought I'd put it forward. Any thoughts?
