Hi all,

What about a 'line of coins' as a possible fundraiser? All that is needed is a suitable stretch of ground and some people willing to collect donations of loose change. The idea is to lay the coins out side by side and see how long a line can be created. The coins collected would then go to Trust funds.

My initial thought was that this could be done as some sort of record attempt. I can't find an exact fiugre on the world record, though I did some very rough calculations which led me to conclude that a record attempt would be hugely ambitious, though not impossible. It would, however, take an enormous amount of advance planning.

Even if the world record idea is taking things a bit far, a simple 'line of coins' could provide an interesting alternative or addition to bucket collections.

What do you think?

I seem to recall the Supporters' Trust at Bury doing a similar thing - covering the pitch with coins - and it was very successful.

Thanks for the idea - I will pass it on to the fundraising subcommittee.
